ToggleThe Great Indian Kapil Show: Netflix has announced that Kapil Sharma will return with a brand-new sketch comedy series. The first trailer for the show was released one week before its debut. Known by the moniker The Great Indian Kapil Show, the format is similar to its predecessor’s, combining a potpourri of sketches with celebrity interviews. Notably, the program is the much-awaited reunion between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, who split up in 2017 over rumours of a disagreement that allegedly resulted from a fight on an Australian trip.
Stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Ed Sheeran, Diljit Dosanjh, Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh, and Shreyas Iyer tease audiences with snippets of their appearance in the trailer. Unlike in earlier versions, there is no connection between guest appearances and their next endeavours. In a poignant scene in the teaser, Kapil and Sunil work together on film for the first time since the incident, jokingly addressing their old disagreement. Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Archana Puran Singh are reunited from the television version, among other well-known personalities.
The Great Indian Kapil Show trailer look?
In the first scene of the trailer, Kapil opens a massive gift box, and Sunil appears wearing his well-known Gutthi persona. After that, they have a lighthearted conversation in which Sunil uses the word “turbulence,” thus proving Kapil right. The two stand-up comedians had a dramatic falling out on a flight in 2017, as fans may recall.
Bollywood’s legendary Kapoor family (Ranbir, Riddhima, and Neetu Kapoor), director Imtiaz Ali, actor-singers Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, actor Aamir Khan, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, and batsman Shreyas Iyer were among the diverse mix of visitors shown in the trailer.
What Sunil and Kapil said?
As seen in the teaser, Kapil declared in a statement, “We’re back! We love you to all of our Indian followers, and on March 30th, we will be making our Netflix debut for all of our international admirers, especially those who have been missing us in Korea and Mongolia! For a very long time, my friends Sunil, Krushna, Kiku, Rajiv, and I have been friends, and we are the same in real life as we are in movies. I had to mention this since Archana ji is keeping my house help prisoner, but yes, we love her. In many respects, The Great Indian Kapil Show is an extension of all of us, and you can watch us whenever and wherever you choose, thanks to Netflix. Just keep in mind that a new episode airs every Saturday.
Reunited with Kapil, Sunil Grover expressed his happiness, comparing it to a “homecoming” and saying, “The Great Indian Kapil Show feels like a homecoming.” We simply continued where we left off. The madness and fun we’ve had filming the show are barely hinted at in the trailer. Because of Netflix, we will be able to reach a global audience this time around, and our Indian fans are like family to us.
New Episode Every Saturday
Every Saturday, a new episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show will premiere on Netflix. The show is scheduled for weekly releases. Since the debut of Comic Nights with Kapil in 2013, Kapil Sharma has been a mainstay in the comic industry. His first appearance on Netflix was a stand-up special called I’m Not Done Yet in 2022. This sparked rumours that his weekly program might move to the streaming service, which was formally announced in 2023.
Though OTT, Fighter Hrithik Roshan’s intense action thriller is still suspenseful!
