FFFXIV Gil is the primary currency used in-game, used to purchase equipment, materials, glamours and housing as well as for transportation needs such as teleportation, airship rides or chocobo rides. Gil is typically acquired through defeating enemies, selling loot after each battle and collecting legendary marks. Additionally, players may find treasure chests or completion rewards from quests with which they earn Gil.
